Position Summary

SEQHER is seeking a Medical officer to provide clinical leadership and direct service delivery in  the implementation of KEY POPULATION health and HIV/AIDS partnership programs in Borno State. The successful candidate will lead mobile clinic operations, ensure high quality clinical care for key populations and build the capacity of local healthcare workers.

This role is based in Borno State for the duration of the contract and offers a strong opportunity for extension based on performance and funding availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical oversight and direct service delivery for mobile HIV/STI screening and primary health services..
  • Conduct pre-test and post-test counseling, interpret results, and manage or refer cases as per national guidelines.
  • Lead the clinical aspects of linkage to care for HIV-positive clients, ensuring seamless connection to ART centers.
  • Co-facilitate training sessions for healthcare workers on gender-affirming care, trauma-informed approaches, and clinical management of HIV/STIs.
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to project lab technicians and peer navigators.
  • Ensure strict adherence to medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and all clinical protocols.
  • Oversee the management of medical commodities and supplies.
  • Contribute to clinical data collection and reporting for the project’s M&E system.
  • Uphold SEQHER’s values of inclusion, diversity, and respect in all program engagements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A degree in Medicine (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
  • Valid practicing license from the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-NYSC clinical experience, with verifiable experience in HIV/AIDS/STI management, public health, or primary healthcare.
  • Understanding of HIV/AIDS programs implementation in Nigeria.
  • Demonstrable experience with Key Populations or marginalized communities is highly desirable.
  • High proficiency in English and Nigerian Pidgin; working knowledge of Hausa and being a resident of Borno State is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a challenging environment.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Position Summary

SEQHER is seeking a Laboratory Scientist to perform high-quality, confidential diagnostic testing for the implementation of KEY POPULATION health and HIV/AIDS partnership programs in Borno State. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting rapid tests, managing laboratory supplies, and ensuring the integrity of all lab processes in mobile and static settings.

This role is based in Borno State for the duration of the contract and offers a strong opportunity for extension based on performance and funding availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) for HIV, Syphilis, and other STIs in accordance with national guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure proper collection, handling, and disposal of all laboratory specimens.
  • Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and ensure the “cold chain” is maintained for temperature-sensitive reagents.
  • Accurately record all test results in project registers and support data entry into the M&E system.
  • Manage inventory of laboratory supplies (test kits, PPE, etc.) and alert the project manager in a timely manner to prevent stock-outs.
  • Adhere to universal safety precautions and infection prevention control measures at all times.
  • Work closely with the Medical Officer and peer navigators to ensure a smooth client flow and service delivery.
  • Uphold SEQHER’s values of inclusion, diversity, and respect in all program engagements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Medical Laboratory Science.
  • Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
  • Understanding of HIV/AIDS programs implementation in Nigeria.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable post-NYSC experience in a laboratory setting, preferably involved in HIV/AIDS programming or public health.
  • High proficiency in English and Nigerian Pidgin; working knowledge of Hausa and being a resident of Borno State is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Position Summary

SEQHER is seeking a GBV Officer (Gender-Based Violence) to  lead the prevention and response to gender-based violence within the implementation of KEY POPULATION health and HIV/AIDS partnership programs in Borno StateThe successful candidate will provide confidential support to survivors, develop safeguarding protocols, and integrate GBV risk mitigation into all project activities.

This role is based in Borno State for the duration of the contract and offers a strong opportunity for extension based on performance and funding availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for receiving and confidentially managing GBV cases reported by project beneficiaries.
  • Provide immediate psychological first aid, safety planning, and support to survivors, and facilitate referrals to specialized services (shelter, legal aid, comprehensive healthcare).
  • Develop and implement GBV prevention and safeguarding strategies, including training for project staff, peer navigators, and partners on SEQHER’s Code of Conduct and PSEAH policies.
  • Lead community-based initiatives to raise awareness on GBV, rights, and available support services.
  • Document GBV incidents (with survivor consent) using secure, ethical methods to inform advocacy and programmatic adaptation.
  • Work closely with the Medical Officer and peer navigators to ensure a survivor-centered approach across all project components.
  • Manage and report on the project’s GBV caseload, ensuring adherence to the principle of confidentiality.
  • Uphold SEQHER’s values of inclusion, diversity, and respect in all program engagements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Gender Studies, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of verifiable professional experience in GBV programming, case management, protection, or a similar role, preferably in a humanitarian or NGO context.
  • Certified training in GBV case management is highly desirable.
  • High proficiency in English and Nigerian Pidgin; working knowledge of Hausa and being a resident of [Borno State]{.underline} is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and empathy skills, with the ability to work with sensitivity and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team..

  • Work collaboratively with the Program Lead, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Team, and Research and Advocacy Team to ensure timely and effective project delivery.
  • Contribute to program documentation, data collection, and reporting.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with local stakeholders, community groups, and implementing partners.
  • Support logistical arrangements for program meetings, training, and community events.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree/Higher National Diploma in any relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in a similar role (including but not limited to program delivery, community outreach, or NGO work).
  • Understanding of HIV/AIDS programs implementation in Nigeria.
  • High proficiency in English and Nigerian Pidgin; working knowledge of Hausa and being a resident of Borno State is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of program implementation and service delivery within community or health-focused projects.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
